Tomato Chlorosis Virus (ToCV) Infection Induced the Resistance of Bemisia tabaci to Two Insecticides: Pyrethroids and Flupyradifurone

چکیده

Insect vectors and insect-borne plant viruses seriously endanger the safety of agricultural production. An insecticide is one main methods to prevent virus transmission. However, curious relationship between resistance insect arboviruses has been less studied. In this study, effect Tomato chlorosis (ToCV) on Bemisia tabaci MED was It found that detoxification cytochrome P450, glutathione S-transferase, carboxylesterase-related genes in ToCV-infected B. were upregulated. The activity three enzymes all increased at same time, after 48 h acquisition, with carboxylesterase being most pronounced. P450 S-transferase least. ToCV led reduced sensitivity pyrethroids flupyradifurone. Therefore, it proven shows possibility enhancing resistance.

Transmission Efficiency, Preference and Behavior of Bemisia tabaci MEAM1 and MED under the Influence of Tomato Chlorosis Virus

Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV, genus Crinivirus, family Closteroviridae) is an economically important virus in more than 20 countries. In China, ToCV was first detected in 2013 and has already spread throughout the country. ToCV is transmitted in a semi-persistent manner by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, but not seed. In the past two decades, the most invasive MEAM1 and MED have replaced the indi...

Rapid identification of Trialeurodes vaporariorum, Bemisia tabaci (MEAM1 and MED) and tomato-infecting criniviruses in whiteflies and in tomato leaves by real-time reverse transcription-PCR assay

The whiteflies Bemisia tabaci and Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Hemiptera Aleyrodidae) are harmful pests of vegetable and ornamental crops in many countries. Also, they are vectors of emergent viruses on tomato including the criniviruses (Closteroviridae genus Crinivirus) Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV) and Tomato infectious chlorosis virus (TICV). Since different vectors are involved in the transmi...

Tomato Infection by Whitefly-Transmitted Circulative and Non-Circulative Viruses Induce Contrasting Changes in Plant Volatiles and Vector Behaviour

Virus infection frequently modifies plant phenotypes, leading to changes in behaviour and performance of their insect vectors in a way that transmission is enhanced, although this may not always be the case. Here, we investigated Bemisia tabaci response to tomato plants infected by Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV), a non-circulative-transmitted crinivirus, and Tomato severe rugose virus (ToSRV), a...

Co-infection by two criniviruses alters accumulation of each virus in a host-specific manner and influences efficiency of virus transmission.

Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV), and Tomato infectious chlorosis virus (TICV), family Closteroviridae, genus Crinivirus, cause interveinal chlorosis, leaf brittleness, and limited necrotic flecking or bronzing on tomato leaves. Both viruses cause a decline in plant vigor and reduce fruit yield, and are emerging as serious production problems for field and greenhouse tomato growers in many parts o...
